The X account (formerly Twitter) of former US President Donald Trump Jr.

experienced a hacking incident, during which a series of false posts were made. Among these posts, one erroneously claimed the passing of former US President Donald Trump. The deleted post, which announced Trump’s demise, stated, “I regretfully announce the passing of my father, Donald Trump. I intend to run for president in 2024.”

Another post aimed at the current POTUS, Joe Biden, and contained offensive language. One post exclaimed, “Breaking News: North Korea is on the brink of a major conflict.” Furthermore, there was another post insinuating that he had “engaged in questionable exchanges with Jeffrey Epstein,” more than four years after the sex offender’s mysterious death in a Manhattan jail.

The compromised account also posted a statement asserting the innocence of cryptocurrency personality Richard Heart, who faced accusations of embezzling $12 million from investors.

Shortly after the posts began circulating, Donald Trump Jr.’s spokesperson, Andrew Surabian, confirmed that the former First Son’s account had been compromised. Surabian stated, “FYI: This is clearly false. Don’s account has been hacked.” However, he did not offer any clues regarding the potential culprits behind the hack.

This development occurred just days after Donald Trump’s campaign announced that he would not be partaking in the upcoming second Republican presidential primary debate in California. Instead, Trump has chosen to deliver a speech to a gathering of union workers. According to an aide cited by Reuters, Trump intends to involve himself in the ongoing dispute between the striking workers and the nation’s top automaker.

Donald Trump has expressed disapproval of President Biden’s electric vehicle policies and has called upon autoworkers to support his candidacy. Last week, the United Auto Workers union initiated a strike against the three largest US auto manufacturers, primarily over compensation and additional benefits.

This marks the second occasion on which Trump has opted out of a Republican primary debate. Recent opinion polls show Trump holding a commanding lead of nearly 50 percentage points over his closest competitor, despite his numerous legal challenges. Trump had previously chosen to bypass the first Republican presidential debate in Wisconsin just last month.
