The manifesto pledges uniform fees across all courses, the introduction of special buses, an expansion of scholarships for reserved categories, the construction of new hostels, and various other initiatives.

The DUSU elections for 2023 are scheduled for September 22. The student organization had previously announced the release of two distinct manifestos: one for all students and another specifically aimed at female students.

Key points from the ABVP manifesto include:

  1. Implementation of a uniform fee structure for all courses to promote equitable education costs.
  2. Introduction of specialized university buses to enhance student convenience.
  3. Augmentation of scholarships for students from marginalized backgrounds belonging to SC, ST, and OBC categories.
  4. Provision of discounted metro concession passes to make metro travel more affordable for students.
  5. Commitment to constructing new hostels and girls’ hostels in each college.
  6. Implementation of the “Earn While Learn Policy” to offer students opportunities to earn income while pursuing their education.
  7. Establishment of dedicated scholarships for transgender students to support their educational aspirations.

ABVP unveiled the manifesto during a press conference attended by all four DUSU candidates: Tushar Dedha, Sushant Dhankar, Aprajita, and Sachin Baisla, alongside ABVP state secretary Harsh Attri and ABVP National Media Convener Ashutosh Singh.

Presidential candidate Tushar Dedha stated, “Past ABVP-led DUSUs have consistently tackled student issues. We are dedicated to resolving concerns such as fee increases, expanding hostel facilities, and placing a focus on mental health.”

Aprajita, running for the position of secretary, underscored the organization’s dedication to women’s empowerment. She highlighted initiatives such as ‘Mission Sahasi’ for self-defense training and ‘Ritumati Abhiyan’ for the distribution of sanitary pads.

Furthermore, Aprajita outlined ABVP’s comprehensive plans, including the restoration and enhancement of sanitary pad vending machines and incinerators across all colleges, the appointment of full-time gynecologists and psychologists at the WUS health center in DU, the establishment of pink booths near every hostel, installation of CCTV cameras both inside and outside college campuses, organizing gender sensitization programs, reinforcing the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) in colleges, hiring female trainers for sports and co-curricular activities, and ensuring the availability of girls’ common rooms in every college, among other measures.

Furthermore, the manifesto encompasses requests for enhanced amenities, such as the installation of water coolers every 100 meters along Chhatra Marg, the promotion of sanitation in all colleges, the establishment of ‘Mindfulness’ Centers within DU, the efficient execution of the ‘Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat’ Program, dedicated arrangements for the transportation of Divyang students, and the creation of meaningful employment prospects, complemented by professional development training through a robust placement cell.
